Parents

Being a parent is the most rewarding yet most challenging relationship one can experience. Parenting should be intentional. With that in mind my mission, when working with parents, is to help them find joy in this very special relationship while gaining confidence as they work through the challenging times with love and patience. Together we will plot a course of action to help you find new ways to respond to your child’s ever-changing needs.

Each stage of development may require tweaking the way you relate, support, and interact with your child. It can be both frustrating and confusing when our children no longer respond to the way “we used” to do things. Without losing sight of your family’s core values it is important to take a step back and “adjust” your approach. Once a parent, always a parent. I work with parents whose children range from five to forty!

There are many ways in which I can help and support you. Is your child struggling with a new problem? Are they showing signs of depression, anxiety, overly emotional, weak social skills, or lack of confidence? I can help you better understand what they are experiencing and give you a variety of tools to address these concerns.

Are you and your partner approaching your parenting in different ways? Being on the same page will provide your child with the clarity and  consistency they need to feel secure.

Is the way you were raised affecting how you are parenting?  Parenting is not only influenced by our early childhood but also the experiences we had in youth and adulthood. So many factors influence the way parents approach their interactions with their children. We can explore your own experiences which will inform  your own parenting style.
